Our Coffee

Calico Jack Coffee

Chris, Austin, and Charisse make up the Calico Jack Roasting team based in Harpersfield, Ohio. Actively involved within the Northeast Ohio coffee community, they are constantly striving to bring the best coffee to your cup while maintaining environmental, fiscal, and sustainable responsibility.

What Sets Calico Jack Apart?

Calico Jack Coffee is really set apart due to its low acidity which maintains the flavor and is so much easier on your digestive system than regular coffee due to a special roasting process called soaking. They have shared their wealth of knowledge with us as we built this dream, and they are always happy to talk coffee. If you see them in the shop, be sure to say hi! Our Milk

Denmandale Dairy

In 2019, Daniel Denman and a professor at Kansas State University talked on the phone about adding a milk processing plant to the farm. Then, in early 2020, people were rushing to the grocery store to stock their refrigerators in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Daniel was bothered when he saw that the dairy cases at local grocery stores were completely empty when there was milk sitting in the milk tank on the farm. He thought about how the milk was being processed and sold all over the region, but the farm couldn’t supply their own local community’s needs. That is the root of Denmandale Dairy - filling a need in the community.

Why Non-Homogenized?

Non-homogenized milk is known to be creamier and tastier thanks to larger fat particles than homogenized milk. These fat particles attach to nutrients, arriving in the digestive tract, where your body absorbs them. When milk is homogenized, particles are made so small they pass through without being digested and go through the bloodstream. Not only is non-homogenized milk easier on your body, but it also allows us to make you a creamier, tastier coffee.

Our Bagels

A native of nearby Cranesville, Pa., Jared Taylor (known to his friends as JT) spent nearly 15 years making bagels for an established bagel company in Columbus, Ohio. But he and his wife, Emily, wanted to raise their two young sons closer to family--and also had the dream of owning their own bagel business.

In February of 2015, their dream became a reality with the opening of JT's Bagels in Conneaut, Ohio. It quickly became a popular place to grab breakfast or lunch, known for its friendly service and delicious bagels that can't be found anywhere else in the area.

JT is at the shop hours before the sun comes up each morning to make his bagels in the traditional New York-style he spent years perfecting: boiled, then baked, so they’re crunchy on the outside and chewy but soft on the inside.
